Nominated security systems integrator for Southern Trains

Background

Optyma security systems have proudly been the nominated security systems integrator for Southern Trains since 2001. During this period we have successfully delivered installations, projects, maintenance and systems repairs across the entire network of 160 stations and car parks for CCTV surveillance access control intruder alarms control systems.

Following the Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) business transformation, when it became the UK’s largest railway operator employing over 7,400 staff, managing 239 stations and providing 24% of all railway journeys in the UK. The provision and maintenance of integrated security systems was put out to tender in order that a single supplier could manage and maintain the security across the entire expanded network.

Part of this PPM programme is to ensure all the Video Management (VMS) and enterprise-level access control platforms are checked and serviced to make certain they are fully working to the manufacturer’s specifications and comply with the latest software updates and firmware versions.

Following each visit, asset registers are updated and Optyma submits all maintenance records and service reports to the GTR project team. These reports detail all assets, details of repairs, system faults, engineer dates and times, and life cycle schedules of installed equipment.

Finally, electronic copies are updated on the on-line portal system to ensure compliance with the GTR standards as required and are the basis of the regular contract meetings held between GTR and Optyma.
