CASE STUDY

NHS

Our remit was for the design and installation of an integrated security system to a newly built four hundred million design and build University Hospital project. It comprised of a 600 door access control system, 650 CCTV camera system, site-wide integrated intruder alarm systems, staff attack systems to the Mental Health units, intercoms, video entry, interlocks, public address, carpark barriers, voice-over IP intercoms and specialist baby equipment tagging solutions.

Integration of the new and existing system onto a centralised software based security management system was undertaken by Optyma. The integrated system is displayed on a central server displaying site graphics and providing automatic alarm switching and full interactive operator control.

This project included high security areas as defined by The Prevention of Terrorism Act, which included radioactive stores and Pharmacy/Hazardous substance areas. The system includes a site-wide local area network and fibre optic backbone for the integrated security system.
